The Bible is the book of my life.
It's the book I live with and the book I live by.
In today’s world, abundant resources like apps, blogs, podcasts, books, and more are at our fingertips to access the Bible. At the same time we are one of the most bible illiterate generations. Surveys report that the majority of Christians don’t read the Bible on a regular basis and haven’t read it in its entirety. With this fact, it is no longer surprising why it is difficult to distinguish between the lives of believers and unbelievers.
Jesus said in John 8:31-32, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The purpose of this course is to facilitate an environment where people learn to practice abiding in the Word. To discover what it means, to know the Truth for oneself. To understand how to live as true disciples who are not conformed to the world but bear forth a kingdom lifestyle.
If you are thirsty and hungry for the Truth. If you are fed up with quick instant microwavable food and seek real food for your soul. If you are dissatisfied with filtered interpretation of the Bible and want to study for yourself. If you desire to know God in deeper more meaningful way, then the BCC is for you.

BCC Leader & Facilitator
Hi, my name is Minji and I am a seeker of Truth just like many others. I am blessed to find it in the Word as it leads me to understand who God is and who I am in Him. I believe true understanding leads to love. As I understand God more, I come to love Him more. In the same way, as I love myself more, I can love my neighbour as myself. My desire is that you get to find your Truth in the Word and through that learn to love. I think it would be great if we could be part of each other’s journey in seeking it. I am also wife to a man from the opposite side of the globe, mother of two little monkeys, I mean, two little boys. I love taking care of gardens, trying new recipes and lying down in hammock.
So, what will your BCC actually look like?
The BCC will have the characteristics of a retreat. Yes, there will be much to study but in the midsts of our study, we won’t overlook staying tuned with the Holy Spirit and keep our hearts open to the Word in the pressure of studying it. Our desire is that this course would be a time in your life when you experience the Holy Spirit and the Word simultaneously, in mindfulness and rest, surrounded by beautiful nature, and like-minded people.
You will get to read the whole Bible
Part of every weekday is set aside for corporate reading. Each week we will cover at least two books. If you have never read the whole Bible, this is your opportunity to take the new step. If you have read the Bible several times before, it is your opportunity to refresh the experience in a different context. Corporate setting enables you to stay awake and focused, to get to know each other in a special way, and to be part of each other’s growth.
You will learn an inductive study method
This approach entails laying down our own theology. We do our best to observe what is literally written in the book with as little as possible preconceived ideas, and let the text speak. Teachings and creative workshops will bring the ancient text alive, guide us to steer our interpretation reasonably, and help us find connecting points to our contemporary life.
You will study at least one book of each literary style
The Bible is a grand collection of literature which includes many genres. Understanding literary styles of the books will prevent you from misleading interpretation.
You will get equipped with various study tools
We will practice how to use a new tool each week. Word study, character study, oracle study, imperative study and more will widen the way you receive from the Word.
You will learn to share what you have learnt
The treasures you find through study is the kind that multiplies. We practice how to preach, teach, lead a small group Bible study, participate in apologetic discussion, and to tell stories. It provides opportunity to discover your gifts, as well as to figure out which way of communication best suits you.
A big focus of the BCC will be to
cultivate a specific set of values.
Desiring to know God in a deeper way
This desire, reason and source of study will certainly be met and boosted through teachings, workshops and self-study. Small groups, one on one, corporate reading and meditation will guide you to cultivate it in the long run.
Developing a critical mind for living out Truth today
The course uses a study method called inductive approach which requires critical and logical thinking. We use it in order to draw out timeless Truths from the books that we study in the Bible, not only from the New Testament but also from the Old Testament. The truths based on our study, applicable and relevant to be lived out today, will provide your faith a firm ground.
Growing in the knowledge of God together
The course is meant to be a small community of growth through interaction between all who are involved. Corporate reading, meditation, prayer and worship as well as fellowship in life at Restenäs are huge blessings that will help you to stay well connected to the body when you spend quite much time digging deep in solitude of mind.
Cultivating a discipline to maximize the benefits of the course
Discipline is crucial for the joy of achievement. The compact schedule and workload will challenge you be a good steward of your time and energy. The small community of growth will be there to cheer and provide a space for accountability.
