School

Come and experience how the combination of your faith & creativity has the power to change the world!

SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2020  FEBRUARY 26TH, 2021

IT ALL STARTS WITH AN IDEA.

The idea that within every single one

of us lies the potential to co-create a bright & hopeful future with God.

That is exactly what the 101 Spark - Discipleship Training School is about. We believe in the power of intentional community, as a place to spark faith & creativity into an irresistible force that can change even the hardest places in the world... whether it's right outside our door or on the other side of the globe.

And we also believe that this kind of experience doesn't ''just happen''. And that's why we're putting together a crew of pioneers, creatives and community builders to facilitate an inspiring environment where we want to invite YOU (that's right, YOU) to join us for an exciting season of getting to know God better and having a go at letting the world know who He is and what His kingdom is all about.

So what do you say? Ready to take the leap?

CONNECTING THE DOTS

An intentional community to help you grow as a disciple, clarify your calling, and inspire you to creatively engage with the needs of our world.

FAITH

You'll get to know God in a way that will rock your life forever.

Learning and growth doesn't just take place through lectures in a classroom, but through all of life. 101 Spark will help and challenge you to become more like Jesus, as you join into a community committed to living lives of discipleship.

We are changed when we encounter God's love and truth and get to know Him personally. Through teachings, personal time with God and one-on-one mentoring you will grow deeper in your relationship with God, setting a solid foundation for the rest of your life.

CREATIVITY

You are created in

God's image. And it has

massive significance

We are all bearers of God's image and we're given this crazy ability to co-create the future with Him. But the question often comes down to if we actually believe it or not.

101 Spark will help you go deeper in understanding the raw and unique material that makes you, you. You will get to explore how to push the limits of what it actually means to build God's kingdom and making manifest His goodness and beauty to a hungry and broken world.

DO DA THING

You'll get to roll up

your sleeves and have

a serious go at it.

We believe the best way to test how our faith and creativity can impact the messy world we live in, is simply to throw ourselves into the unknown... and actually ''do da thing''.

During the first 12 weeks, you will get the opportunity to work & create with others, developing and trying your hands at initiating an entrepreneurial project with the aim to impact our local community. You will spend one day per week in an inspiring team environment which will also set the tone and direction for the following 12 weeks when we hit the road and go on outreach.

SEPT 10 -DEC 4

Part One:

Lecture phase

The lecture phase is a 12-week journey where you get to know God deeper through fellowship with others and through a big variety of activities. You will receive quality teaching from experienced international speakers. Every week has a new topic where you get to go deeper in understanding and practice in topics like God’s Character, Hearing God’s voice, Holy Spirit, Identity, Relationships, missions and more.

Being part of a live-learn environment will also encourage you to explore how to apply all that you are learning into a hands-on and concrete way of life, anchoring all that you are and do in God's love & truth. We recognize that learning and growth don’t just take place through lectures in a classroom, but also through serving, living in community, one-on-one discipleship, personal time with God, worship, small groups and much more. Therefore, all these elements will be woven into the schedule throughout the lecture phase.

Do Da Thing:

Entrepreneurial Projects

Because we believe that God’s truth and wisdom were never meant to be learnt in a vacuum, a key practice that will be highlighted throughout 101 Spark DTS is translating all you are going to learn into hands-on practical application with the aim of shaping the world around you.

That is at the heart of “Do Da Thing” - a wide open space where together we will get a chance to experiment and learn how to creatively engage with the needs around us. The track you choose will be a unique opportunity for you to use and develop practical skills, exploring how to come up with sustainable solutions that will serve all kinds of societal needs.

This year's Do Da Thing tracks will be facilitated by two of our teams: Terra Firma and Blóm.

Terra Firma is a farming/agriculture project. These guys are passionate about seeing people grasp the amazing potential of the soil and the way it can provide for so many of our nutritional needs. Their vision is to help create sustainable lives for the least developed through organic agriculture. They also want to be a place where people will learn tons about how to grow healthy food, but more specifically to learn how to do that in a way that can help impoverished communities around the world, up on their feet again.

Blóm is a collective of creatives who use design, branding and creative thinking as a vehicle for helping individuals, projects and organisations reimagine how to engage with issues facing society, in order to create value, build community and see lives transformed by God's love and truth.

TERRA FIRMA

Environment &

agriculture

As mankind, our impact on creation is significant. Agriculture is an important way that we can be involved in the stewardship of this earth, and a way we can impact creation positively. You will get to study how our lifestyle and choices impacts the environment, current environmental and justice issues and explore solutions to these issues. You will also be a part of working with our agriculture team “Terra Firma” and learn as we harvest, plant and prepare the grounds. The goal is to have an impact on the current issues of global hunger and environment.

BLÓM

Product design as a

vehicle for change

This project will give you the opportunity to embark on a creative journey, exploring the way product design can be a force for community building and social impact. Together we will collaborate with an established organization, and design a product to help highlight their work and bring awareness to the cause they are standing for. As a member of this group, you will get to try your hands at the various parts involved in seeing such a project come to life: prototyping & designing a product, creating a communication strategy/campaign, create diverse platforms to engage the general public on key topics connected to our project, etc. This will be an opportunity for everyone to discover the power of collaboration and how faith & creativity combined can be a voice for hope in today's society.

DEC 7 -FEB 26

Part Two:

Outreach Phase

This is the part where you will take all the learning you’ve experienced during the first three months, to the next level. This second part of your DTS will be a time of risk and adventure where you will get to test and explore what it means to apply all you have learned about God, yourself and the needs of the world, in real life situations.

For this year's outreach, your team will be visiting different locations, working with projects that connect with the various entrepreneurial endeavours you will engage with during the first 12 weeks of the lecture phase. This approach will help keep up the momentum already created with the work and ministries we'll be collaborating with. The outreach phase is designed to help you gain experience in these four areas:

Share God's

love & truth

Part of our calling as children of God is to share His love and truth with those who do not know him. There will  be ample opportunities for you to practice how to do this in a variety of creative ways and from a holistic point of view. The goal is to learn how to both tell people about the Good News and God’s love for them and at the same, time show them what His kingdom looks like here on earth.

Hands-on opportunities to

serve with diverse ministries

You will get to serve, bless, and be a part of supporting existing projects and ministries in the community where you will live during the outreach phase. There will be many opportunities for you use your skills and abilities to contribute to the ongoing efforts happening on location. This will give you a taste of what working abroad in a missional setting can look like.

Broaden your perspective

on societal issues

You will get to wrestle with the difficult reality of encountering broken lives and communities and see up close the roots of all this hurt. This will help you broaden and deepen your understanding of the complex dynamics at play, and hopefully, inspire you to explore how you could wisely and creatively engage with those problems in the future.

Cross-cultural

experience

The world is big and complex and for us to reach the world, we need to engage with it. There are cultures, and ways of life out in the world that are different from what we know. Getting acquainted with the unknown and the unfamiliar will grow your curiosity, challenge your perspective and deepen your understanding of the diversity and beauty of the created world.

WIDE OPEN SPACES

What's next?

There is room for you!

Sparkbox is the vision we are moving towards as a community. It's the dream we have of growing into a crazy playground for pioneers, entrepreneurs and community builders here on the west coast of Sweden. Together and with God, being committed to creating and cultivating sustainable solutions for the problems facing our world today. And through it all, to inspire and empower young people with the truth of the Gospel, so that they may see and know what it means to build a better tomorrow - one that makes manifest our Father’s kingdom, both locally and abroad.

And we want you to know that there is place for you to join the party! We want you to know that your are carrying an enormous creative potential just waiting to explode into brilliance. And our hope is that your DTS would be a time of both growing and dreaming, and that it would feed the fire God has placed in your heart, helping you clarify what He is calling you into and encourage you to boldly start building towards that!

And that's exactly what we want to create space for at Sparkbox: the dreams and visions you are carrying in your heart! So we encourage you to begin thinking already now: what has God placed in you and what will you do with it all? And if you believe that Sweden and Sparkbox is the place for the next leg of your journey, then know that there is a space for you!

Don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

ISAK OSCARSSON

SWEDEN

Hello there! My name is Isak, and I will be leading the DTS together with Kristin. For me, the journey of knowing God is something that is done in close fellowship with friends. Friends that encourage and support one another, but who are also correcting when needed. That is why I love working with the DTS. There is good teaching and program, but time and time again, I see how relationships between peers are transforming people's lives. Other than that I am passionate about exploring how innovative agriculture can bring solutions to the environment and poverty.

KRISTIN LOPEZ

NORWAY

Hi, my name is Kristin and I will be leading the DTS with Isak. In the DTS you will get to know God as a personal God and discover more who you are. I believe we all are carrying something that can make a change for someone else. During DTS you will work together with others to find your passion and how you can create a purpose filled life with God.
