101-SPARK DTS:
SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2020 FEBRUARY 26TH, 2021
Environment & Agriculture

As mankind, our impact on creation is significant. As stewards of this earth, we can do things differently and effect creation positively!
Because we believe that God’s truth and wisdom were never meant to be learned in a vacuum, a key practice that will be highlighted throughout the 101 Spark DTS, is translating all you are learning into hands-on, practical applications, all geared towards impacting the world around you with God's kingdom.
Through the agriculture & environment track, outside the normal DTS schedule, you will spend one full-day a week, studying and learning about how our lifestyle and choices impact the environment. Together we will look at current environmental and justice issues and explore potential ideas and solutions as to what our response could be as followers of Jesus. We seek to uncover principles found in God’s Word and creation to train you in the basics of agriculture and together look at principles in agriculture that will benefit creation on all levels. We desire to find ways and employ methods that restore man’s relationship to creation and that make the aspects that are found in the garden work together as God intended. You will be working with Sparkbox's agriculture team, Terra Firma, and have a go at learning by doing... as we harvest, plant, and prepare the grounds for the following year.
This track will be facilitated by our team: Terra Firma.
Terra Firma is a farming/agriculture project. These guys are passionate about seeing people grasp the amazing potential of the soil and the way it can provide for so many of our nutritional needs. Their vision is to help create sustainable lives for the least developed through organic agriculture. They also want to be a place where people will learn tons about how to grow healthy food, but more specifically to learn how to do that in a way that can help impoverished communities around the world, up on their feet again.
