Discipeship training school
The lecture phase consists of twelve weeks of teaching with speakers sharing from their personal walk with God on a variety of topics. You’ll be a part of a live/learn community of believers who also long to know God and make Him known to the ends of the earth. Throughout the lecture phase, we will have a special emphasis on:
PUTTING GOD FIRST: Through teaching, personal time with God and cooperate worship and prayer you will learn to live with God and your relationship with Him as the centre. You will be challenged to put Him before all other things.
GROWING IN CHRISTLIKENESS: Through teaching, interacting with others and mentoring from the staff you will be challenged to grow in Christlikeness. To imitate him in character as well as action and relating to others.
BEING EQUIPPED FOR SERVICE: Through both teaching and practice you will be equipped to bless others and use the unique gifting God put in you. You will learn to listen to God and cooperate with the Holy Spirit to advance his Kingdom in wherever He calls you.
CULTIVATE A HEART FOR THE UNREACHED: Through understanding the value of each individual and experiencing his heart for the lost. You will develop a desire to help those in need and reach out to those who have never heard of His name.
GROW AS A DISCIPLE,
IN A LIVE/LEARN
PART ONE - LECTURE PHASE
Start out with 12 weeks of focused, intensive discipleship in our community. It’s an exciting season of discovery, as students receive fresh revelation of God’s love and an understanding of their calling. You and your classmates will explore a range of topics, guided by experienced local and international teachers. Every week will explore different areas relating to Jesus’ life, our character, personal relationship with God and missions. Apart from learning in the classroom, there will be worship, personal time with God, 1-on-1 mentoring, practical service and much more.
KNOW WHO GOD IS.
AND WHO HE
SAYS YOU ARE.
HOLISTIC LEARNING THAT GOES
BEYOND THE CLASSROOM'S WALLS
As YWAM, our approach to training is holistic - “live-learn” - recognising that learning and growth don’t just take place through lectures in a classroom, but also through serving, living in community, one-on-one discipleship, personal time with God, worship, small groups and much more. Throughout the lecture phase, all these elements will be woven into the schedule. Therefore, the DTS doesn’t just happen during day time. Evenings and weekends are also important parts of our “live-learn” environment as students discuss, sharpen and disciple each other.
YOUR CALLING AS
SALT & LIGHT TO
A WORLD IN NEED.
PART TWO - OUTREACH PHASE
Following three months of lecture phase, your DTS will head off on a 8-12 week cross-cultural outreach. Through both words and action, students will have the privilege of sharing the love of Jesus with others, truly being His hands and feet in a broken world. Outreach teams serve the lost, wherever they are, sharing the hope of Christ in many ways; evangelism, discipleship, sports, drama, youth ministry, teaching, music, practical service, prayer, etc. Teams regularly partner with local churches, YWAM ministries and long-term missionaries to strengthen their work and provide for follow up discipleship. Outreach is an exhilarating time of risk and adventure, as teams serve with local believers; transforming lives and impacting society with the love of Jesus Christ.
